The first competition day of the festival «Road to Yalta» took place on April 28 at the «Yauza Palace»!
16 participants (we have one duet) from 15 countries performed songs about the Great Patriotic War in their native languages. The jury, which was exclusively male, was attentive to each contestant that day: Lev Leshchenko, Mikhail Shvydkoy, Denis Maidanov, Kai Metov and Alexander F. Sklyar did not spare comments. They praised the participants, noted the interesting and sometimes completely unusual sound of the songs we knew, and gave the contestants tips on how to improve their performance at the final gala concert. But no ratings were given, because they will have to determine the winners only at the final concert on May 1 in the Kremlin. The performance of each participant left an impression on the audience, the judging panel, and the entire festival team. It is impossible to guess who will take the prizes now. The foreign contestants shared their emotions from the performances with our media group and numerous media outlets immediately after leaving the stage. Later you will see it in the diaries of the festival, and reports from the concert are already being broadcast on the news.
